Recently, I’ve fallen in love with Tumeric lattes or golden milk lattes as it is also known as. No, we don’t a traditional espresso machine at Nezinscot Farm Store, yet :-), but good strong coffee is used in my recipe instead and it is delicious.
Turmeric has some amazing health benefits, which include its ability to reduce inflammation, heal wounds, improve skin health, protect cognitive abilities, and ease menstrual difficulties. Turmeric also helps win depression, alleviate pain, slow the aging process, and protect the digestive tract. We’ve used it at the farm store to create our anti-inflammatory oil, which is great for arthritis and stiff muscles.
But today we are making lattes!
Here is my go-to recipe:
- 1 – 1 1/2 cups hot coffee or double shot espresso
- 1/2 – 1 cup milk of choice
- 1 rounded teaspoon coconut oil
- 1/2 teaspoon organic turmeric or 1/2 teaspoon Frontier Turmeric Blend
- dash of cinnamon and pepper – if not using the blend
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Splash of Maple Syrup or Honey
Start off by warming all the ingredients, except coffee, over medium heat. When the coconut oil is melted add in the coffee. Let steep for a few more minutes, then remove and place in blender. Blend at medium-high speed for just a few moments to incorporate all the ingredients and get a luscious creme on top of the latte. If there is extra you may share, I always have some for my husband, but his mug is much smaller.
Enjoy
